Cut the components at the right size by using a circular saw and smooth the cut edges with a sand block. I pushed the desk cabinet up against the baseboards where it would be going and marked the cut area with a pencil, then cut them out with a dovetail saw. The desk was secured to the cleat, rail, and desk cabinet with 1 1/4″ pocket screws. I secured the bed to the wall with four lag screws. You’ll need four lengths for the vertical face frame pieces and two additional lengths that will be cut into cross pieces. Put casters on the four corners of the frame. We put a 4-inch inch piece of thin wood down the center to ensure that the divided plywood would not be shown. Pre-drill all holes.
